Jacob van Garderen
Advocate Jacob van Garderen is the National Director of Lawyers for Human Rights (LHR) in South Africa. He formerly headed LHR’s Refugee and Migrant Rights Project, which provides legal assistance to refugees and migrant workers in South Africa and advocates for law reform in this sector.
He is a practicing advocate of the Supreme Court of South Africa and a member of the Strategic Litigation Unit, which litigates in precedent‐ setting and high impact matters dealing with the rights of refugees and migrant workers.
