On Thursday 22 April 2010, the Refugee Law Project (RLP) celebrated 10 years of promoting rights of forced migrants. During this time, the organization has tremendously transformed from just providing legal aid to refugees and asylum seekers to handling issues of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), deportees, and transitional justice.
As part of the celebrations, the RLP produced a 15-minute video highlighting the 10-year journey which was screened at a dinner at which Prof. Tarsis Kabwegyere, Minister of Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees in Uganda, was Guest of Honour. This video and recordings of the various speeches made at the dinner held at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, Uganda (including one delivered by the RLP founder and 3R foundation instigator, Prof. Barbara Harrell-Bond), can be viewed on the RLP website.
Please download welcome remarks by Dr Chris Dolan, Director RLP, as well as the Speech by Prof Tarsis Kabwegyere.
