3R Foundation funds legal aid and psychosocial counselling programme in Nepal

The 3R Foundation has recently funded the Forum for Protection of People’s Rights, Nepal (PPR Nepal) through the kind support of the ASN Foundation. The funds will be used to effectively initiate and implement a legal aid and psychosocial counseling programme to refugees currently residing in Nepal.

Advisory Committee

An Advisory Committee was recently formed to act as an advisory body to PPR Nepal on matters related to refugee rights and refugee legal aid. PPR Nepal has already started to document incidents of refugee rights violations and is currently providing legal servicces and psychosocial services to refugees in Nepal. PPR Nepal would like to thank to 3R Foundation for their cooperation in this regard and welcomes any cooperation, suggestions and sharing of experiences in this regard.

The Committee will work towards the promotion and protection of refugee rights in Nepal.  Composition of the Committee is as follows:

  1. Prof. Kapil Shrestha
    Coordinator, Senior Human Rights Defender and former member of the National Human Rights Commission of Nepal
  2. Ms. Kusum Sakha
    Committee member, Associate Professor, Refugee Law Chair, Tribhuwan University in Kathmandu, Nepal
  3. Ms. Sabita Baral
    Committee member, Advocate, Former Treasurer, Nepal Bar Association
  4. Mr. Rajendra Ghimire
    Secretary, Advocate and Executive Director of PPR Nepal
